Goodbye Lenin: Part II

Budapest has already seen dozens of public places – notably Moszkva tér (Moscow Square) – renamed to eradicate any trace of the former communist dictatorship. It appears the process will be complete by January after Parliament passed a government bill that outlaws the use of names of anyone who “played a leading role in establishing, building or maintaining autocratic political systems in the 20th century”. For good measure, it also outlaws any names that can be “directly linked” to such systems.
