Varna and Cape Town sign twin cities agreement
The Bulgarian Black Sea city of Varna and South Africa’s parliamentary capital city Cape Town completed the process of signing a twinning agreement on November 6 2012, the South African embassy in Sofia said.
The signing of the Co-operation Protocol (or “twinning” agreement) between the cities of Cape Town and Varna was completed by the signature of the mayor of Varna, Kiril Yordanov. South African ambassador Sheila Camerer presented copies of the agreement in both Bulgarian and English, already signed by the mayor of Cape Town, Patricia de Lille, to mayor Yordanov for signature.
“This partnership is established within the frame of the 20th Anniversary of Diplomatic Relations between South Africa and Bulgaria being celebrated this year. It is further evidence of the deepening friendly relations between our two countries,” Camerer said.
