Podcast: Bulgaria’s mayoral election battle, and other news
Like other European countries, Bulgaria is grappling with how to deal with the flow of migrants heading from the Middle East and North Africa on their way through to the safer and wealthier havens – as they see them – of northern Europe and Scandinavia.
By no means seized by a level of crisis in this regard as other countries such as Greece, Macedonia, Serbia and Hungary, Bulgaria is nonetheless debating moves on how to cope.
And speaking of debates, at a more parochial level, Bulgaria too faces mayoral and municipal elections, beginning with the first round on October 5 2015. Good news for roads, pavements and parks?
All this was on the agenda when Bulgaria Now’s Lance Nelson sat down with The Sofia Globe’s Editor-in-Chief, Clive Leviev-Sawyer, to discuss the news of the day for the latest Bulgaria Now/sofiaglobe.com podcast.
