Bulgaria records 4.1% annual inflation in March
Bulgaria’s annual consumer price index (CPI) recorded 4.1 per cent inflation in March, up from 3.3 per cent a month earlier, the National Statistical Institute (NSI) said on April 14.
The monthly CPI figure recorded 0.9 per cent inflation in March.
Food prices were 0.5 per cent higher in March compared to February, while non-food prices increased by 2.1 per cent and services prices were unchanged.
Compared to March 2025, food prices were 3.7 per cent higher, while non-food prices rose by 2.6 per cent and services prices were up 5.1 per cent.
The harmonised CPI figure, calculated by NSI for comparison with European Union data, recorded one per cent monthly inflation, and the annual harmonised CPI inflation was 2.8 per cent, up from 2.1 per cent a month earlier.
Food and beverage prices were 3.9 per cent higher in March, on an annual basis, while the price of utilities and housing rose by 4.2 per cent and transportation costs were 2.7 per cent lower compared to the same month of last year.
