Bulgaria issues weather warnings for parts of country over forecast heavy rain
Bulgaria’s national meteorological bureau has issued the Code Orange warning of dangerous weather for several districts for November 27 because of forecast heavy rain.
The districts subject to the Code Orange warning are Kyustendil, Blagoevgrad, Pazardzhik, Smolyan, Kurdzhali and Haskovo.
The lesser Code Yellow warning of potentially dangerous weather has been issued for several districts for Thursday, also because of forecast rain.
The Code Yellow warning applies to Sofia city, Sofia district, Plovdiv, Vidin, Montana, Vratsa, Stara Zagora, Sliven and Yambol.
The remaining districts are classified Code Green for November 27, meaning that no weather warning is in place.
The meteorological bureau said that there would be significant quantities of rain on Thursday in the south-western half of Bulgaria, and on Friday, in southern Bulgaria.
Thunderstorms are also possible in the southern parts of Bulgaria.
On Thursday, relatively cold air will continue to blow in with a northwesterly wind and in the western half of the country, temperatures will be mainly between 5° and 10° Celsius.
In the east, the air flow will still be from the south and it will be warm with night temperatures up to 12°-14° and maximums up to 18°.
