Bulgaria’s exports in January – September 2025 down 4.8%, imports up 3.8% y/y
In January – September 2025, the total value of all the goods exported from Bulgaria amounted to 61 998.1 million, 4.8 per cent less than in January – September 2024, the National Statistical Institute (NSI) said on November 11, citing preliminary data.
In September 2025, the total exports of goods added up to 7 072.5 million leva, an increase of 0.6 per cent compared with September 2024.
The total value of all the goods imported into Bulgaria in January – September 2025 amounted to 75 601.7 million leva (at CIF prices), 3.8 per cent more than in January – September 2024.
In September 2025, the total imports of goods increased by 11.5 per cent compared with September 2024, adding up to 9 035.4 million leva.
The total foreign trade balance (exports FOB – imports CIF) was negative in the period January – September 2025, amounting to 13 603.6 million leva.
In September 2025, the total foreign trade balance (exports FOB – import CIF) was also negative, adding up to 1 962.9 million leva.
