Bulgaria issues weather warnings over forecast heavy rains, thunderstorms on June 4
Bulgaria’s national meteorological bureau has issued the Code Orange warning of hazardous weather for several districts for June 4 because of forecast heavy rains with thunderstorms and hail.
The districts subject to the Code Orange warning are Vidin, Montana, Vratsa, Sofia district (as distinct from the district of Sofia city), Lovech and Gabrovo.
A number of other districts are subject to the lesser Code Yellow warning of potentially dangerous weather on June 4, also because of forecast rain and thunderstorms.
These districts are Sofia city, Plovdiv, Pleven, Veliko Turnovo, Pazardzhik, Blagoevgrad and Kyustendil.
The remaining districts are classified Code Green for June 4, meaning that no weather warning is in place.
Maximum temperatures will be between 22° and 27° Celsius, in Sofia about 22°.
The maximum temperature at an altitude of 1200 metres will be about 17°, at 2000 metres about 11°.
Sunny weather will prevail along the Black Sea coast before noon, with showers and thunder later in the day. Maximum temperatures will be from 22°-24° along the northern coast to 26°-28° along the southern coast. The sea water temperature is 19°, the meteorological bureau said.
