PM Zhelyazkov: Bulgaria welcomes the US-Ukraine ceasefire agreement

Bulgaria welcomes the US-Ukraine ceasefire agreement from Jeddah, Prime Minister Rossen Zhelyazkov said on X on March 12.

The BBC reported that Ukraine has said it is ready to accept an immediate 30-day ceasefire with Russia proposed by the US, after a day of US-Ukraine talks in Saudi Arabia.

“It is an important step towards a comprehensive, just and lasting peace for Ukraine,” Zhelyazkov said.

“We call all sides for political will in the name of peace. Bulgaria is ready to participate in the peace process together with the US and EU,” he said.

EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas said on X on March 11: “I welcome the US-Ukraine talks in Jeddah, notably regarding a ceasefire and resumption of US intelligence and security assistance to Ukraine, but also in humanitarian field”

The ball, as always, is in Russia’s court, Kallas said.

The EU will do its full part to achieve a just and durable peace, she said.
