Bulgaria’s exports in January – September 2024 down 3.6%, imports down 0.1% y/y

In January – September 2024, the total value of all the goods exported from Bulgaria amounted to 63 156.4 million leva, which is 3.6 per cent less than in January – September 2023, the National Statistical Institute (NSI) said on November 11, citing preliminary data.

In September 2024 the total exports of goods added up to 6645.2 million leva, a decrease of 9.3 per cent compared with September 2023.

The total value of all the goods imported into Bulgaria in January – September 2024 amounted to 71 973.3 million BGN (at CIF prices), 0.1 per cent less than the same period of 2023.

In September 2024, the total imports of goods increased by 0.2 per cent compared with September 2023, adding up to 7 945.7 million leva.

Bulgaria’s total foreign trade balance (exports FOB – imports CIF) was negative in the period January – September 2024, amounting to 8 816.9 million leva.

In September 2024 the total foreign trade balance (exports FOB – import CIF) was also negative, adding up to 1 300.5 million leva, the NSI said.
