Sofia Airport: Lufthansa flights on February 17 cancelled

All Lufthansa flights connecting Bulgaria’s capital to Frankfurt and Munich, respectively, on February 17 have been cancelled, Sofia Airport said.

Also cancelled is the February 16 flight at 10.45pm from Munich.

Sofia Airport said that the flights were cancelled for “operational reasons”.

Frankfurt Airport said on its website that because of a strike by Germany’s Ver.di union, operations at Frankfurt Airport would be heavily disrupted throughout the day on February 17.

Passengers are strongly advised to refrain from travelling to the airport, the notice said. Connecting flights from Frankfurt Airport would also be affected by the strike, it said.

Munich Airport said on its website that during the strike, due to end at 1am local time on February 18, regular flight operations would be suspended.
