Bulgaria annual CPI records 0.6% deflation in September 2016
Bulgaria’s Consumer Price Index (CPI) shrank by 0.6 per cent year-on-year in September 2016, while monthly data showed 0.5 per cent deflation compared to August, according to figures released by the National Statistical Institute on October 12.
September 2016 was the eighth consecutive month in which the annual index showed deflation.
The inflation rate since the beginning of the year (September 2016 compared to December 2015) has been -0.7 per cent.
The annual average inflation, measured by CPI, in the last 12 months (October 2015 – September 2016) compared to the previous 12 months (October 2014 – September 2015) was -0.8 per cent.
The harmonized index of consumer prices (HICP) in September 2016 compared to August 2016 was 99.3 per cent, meaning monthly inflation was -0.7 per cent.
The inflation rate since the beginning of the year (September 2016 compared to December 2015) has been -1.1 per cent and annual inflation in September 2016 compared to September 2015 was -1.1 per cent.
Annual average inflation, measured by HICP, in the past 12 months (October 2015 – September 2016) compared to the previous 12 months (October 2014 – September 2015) was -1.4 per cent, the National Statistical Institute said.
