Bulgaria Q1 2016 FDI was 371.3M euro
Foreign direct investment in Bulgaria in the first three months of 2016 stood at 371.3 million euro, the equivalent of 0.8 per cent of gross domestic product (GDP), statistics from the Bulgarian National Bank (BNB) showed on May 18. In the same period of 2015, FDI was 586 million euro, but the original amount reported by BNB last year was 317.3 million euro, which was revised upward later.
Investment in equity, including in the real estate sector, stood at 144.5 million euro (compared to 95.2 million euro in Q1 2015) and re-invested earnings accounted for 139 million euro (versus 214.6 million euro a year earlier), according to preliminary data.
Receipts from real estate investments by foreign companies totalled 9.3 million euro, compared to 15.8 million euro during the same period of 2015.
