Poland to hold presidential elections on May 10

Poland will hold the presidential elections on May 10 2015, the lower house Sejm Speaker Radoslaw Sikorski said on February 5.

Announcing the election date, Sikorski said he hoped that the election campaign would go forward “in a spirit of mutual respect and discussions about Poland.”

The choice of the day has caused criticism from opposition parties as it takes place two days after Poland observes World War 2 remembrance services to mark 70 years since the conflict began.
