Turkish Pegasus Airlines Boeing 737 hijacked

A hijacking took place on February 7 2014 on an aircraft belonging to the Turkish Pegasus Airlines, which was flying the route Harkovo-Istanbul.

According to information, a Ukranian passenger, at 5.30pm, demanded that the pilots land the aircraft in Sochi, saying that he was carrying explosives in his suitcase and wanted to invade the cockpit.

The pilots immediately turned off the plane’s intercommunication to the passengers and continued on the Boeing 737’s normal course. The pilots informed the control tower in Istanbul airport, at 5.45pm, that a hijacking was in progress.
