Hungary: Cops not opposing Gay Pride events this time
Budapest’s annual Gay Pride Festival will open with an event at the new Gödör Klub on Király utca in District VI this Saturday.
The parade that traditionally caps off the week of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender festivities – a common target for right-wing ire and recently conducted under a heavy police guard – will be held on 6 July. The police have not banned the event as they did last year in a move that was eventually overturned by the courts.
