BNB: Loans to households in Bulgaria in July 2026 up 20.8% y/y

Loans to households and NPISHs (non-profit institutions serving households) added up to 32.129 billion euro at the end of July 2026, an increase of 20.8 per cent compared with the end of July 2025, Bulgarian National Bank (BNB) said in a regular report on August 27.

This followed 21 per cent annual growth in June 2026, BNB said.

At the end of July 2026 loans for house purchases added up to 19.022 billion euro, an increase of 25.7 per cent on an annual basis, folloing 26.4 per cent annual growth in June 2026.

Consumer loans amounted to 12.089 euro. Compared with July 2025, this was an increase of 15.4 per cent.

Deposits of Households and NPISHs amounted to 56.859 billion euro at the end of July 2026. This was an increase of 17.8 per cent compared with July 2025, and followed 18.6 per cent annual growth in June 2026, BNB said.
