The heatwave that hit Bulgaria weeks ago is continuing. The scorching heat will not loosen its grip on Bulgaria in the next 10 days and possibly longer, weather forecasts on August 3 said.

On August 3 it will be even hotter than yesterday in most of Bulgaria.

A new Code Yellow dangerous weather warning is in place for all but two Bulgarian districts because of excessive heat, at temperatures between 34 and 38 degrees Celsius.

The warning applies to the districts of Blagoevgrad, Dobrich, Gabrovo, Haskovo, Kurdzhali, Kustendil, Lovech, Montana, Pazardzhik, Pernik, Pleven, Plovdiv, Razgrad, Rousse, Shoumen, Silistra, Sliven, Smolyan, Sofia (city and district), Stara Zagora, Turgovishte, Veliko Turnovo, Vidin, Vratsa and Yambol.

The only two regions which got no warning are Bourgas and Varna at the Black Sea coast. But even there, daytime highs will be above 30 degrees.

Residents of all areas affected by the weather warning are advised not to move much outdoors and to drink a lot of water.
