Sofia is not New York, Plovdiv is not Hollywood and Varna is not Monaco. Well, but maybe Slanchev Briag (also known as “Sunny Beach” or “Mafia Beach”) is Beverly Hills, judging from the cars on the streets, during the summer months. The most elegant, most extravagant, most beautiful vehicles have been seen down there. There seem to be more A8s, S8s, S classes, Panameras and 7-series limousines at the Bulgarian seaside than in Frankfurt’s banking quarter.

Generally, countless stunning cars are being driven, sold and purchased in Bulgaria. On mobile.bg, one of the most beautiful vehicles sold right now is a 1961 Rolls Royce Silver Cloud in white. The owner also has an Austin Princess Vanden Plas Limousine, a very rare vehicle built in 1953. According to what it says in those sales ads, both of these beauties have a very low mileage, considering their age.

Another stunning classic up for grabs via mobile.bg is a 1958 Borgward Hansa. If that car could only talk, it would most likely tell a very interesting tale of how in the hell it got here. Borgward was a German manufacturer based in Bremen. They produced several models, the most famous of which was the Borgward Isabella. In 1961, Borgward went bankrupt. Even though they had brought innovations into the automotive world, such as the automatic transmission or the air suspension, they were run over by the much larger car manufacturers. Nowadays, any Borgward moving on any street is a miracle. The latter applies even more in Bulgaria.

Then of course, there are modern sports vehicles which would cost about 350 high Bulgarian salaries, or 175,000 Euro. This is about a McLaren MP4-12C, which is for sale in Plovdiv, while the pictures in the sales ad were taken in Finland. This extravagant racer is a beauty indeed and has 36,000 kilometers under its belt. Its 625 horsepowers will make sure you win any race. Damn. What a car.

It doesn’t get more extravagant, does it? A Plymouth Prowler in Sofia. Photo by mobile.bg.

Or how about something decadent, such as an Oldsmobile Toronado Delta 88? This giant cruiseship is basically the definition of the American V8 cruiser as they were built in the 1960s, 70s and 80s. This one, a 1984 model, is up for grabs in Sofia. Someone must have really loved and imported it, probably many years ago.

Now, are we ready for yet another highlight too extravagant to believe? There is a Plymouth Prowler for sale, in Sofia. This piece of equipment is definitely one of the most recognizable vehicles built this millennium. And this particular car, a 2002 model, must have been one of the last Plymouths ever built, since the brand was withdrawn from the market by Chrysler in 2001. (Yes, in America, the official model year will always be the next year.)

Electric cars? Sure. At this moment, mobile.bg lists 11 Tesla Model S, one of which is actually the new Model X. But how about a tiny electric car, which will take its owner from A to B while not exaggerating on the energy costs? There is one of those here. Hell, there is even a horse-drawn carriage, offered without the horse.
