Our northern neighbour Romania has a lot of culture as well. “RadioRo”, a huge radio orchestra festival, will commence at the end of September 2016. It is already the third edition of this event.

The first concert at the Romanian Radio Hall, located in Bucharest, is sensational already: The Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra (see photo above), conducted by Lin Daye, will play four compositions by Enescu, Rachmaninoff, Saint-Saëns as well as Rimsky-Korsakov, on September 23rd, 2016. This Chinese orchestra was founded in 1982 and has performed all over the planet since. It is the first time The Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra hits a stage in south-eastern Europe.

But the bi-annual nine-day event, “RadioRo”, will feature eight more classical concerts, performed by big names, such as The Norwegian Radio Orchestra, the MDR Leipzig Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Austrian ORF Radio Sinfonie Orchester, and of course The Romanian Radio Orchestra, performing a lot of works, from Orff to Brahms.

The BBC Concert Orchestra, conducted by Barry Wordsworth, will conclude “RadioRo” on October 1st, 2016, interpreting compositions by Berlioz, Barker, Davies and others.

Tickets for “RadioRo” are available at Eventim Romania.
