Michael Doyle, a British tourist at Bulgaria’s Black Sea cost, suddenly fell ill during his vacation. The diagnose: Septicaemia. Michael has been in surgery six times, since he went to a doctor, with severe stomach pains. He is still in intensive care, at a Bulgarian hospital.

He does have a health insurance card. The issue is that doctors insist, he would need to be flown out on a medical flight, due to his condition. The insurance does not cover the expected costs of up to 40 000 pounds.

In Michael’s home town, Gorse Hill, Michael’s mother Mandy Doyle started collecting from inhabitants at first, until friends launched the crowdfunding efforts, which are under way right now.

The crowdfunding page for Michael Doyle can be reached here.
