January 19th, 2017: Yet Another Weather Warning for Bulgaria

More than half of Bulgaria get yet another Code Yellow weather warning for today. In the regions Blagoevgrad, Plovdiv, Smolyan and Pazardzhik, heavy snowfall is the reason, while in the following regions, there will be both snowfall and strong winds: Burgas, Dobrich, Haskovo, Kardjali, Razgrad, Ruse, Sliven, Shumen, Silistra, Stara Zagora, Targovishte, Varna and Yambol.

The north-western part of Bulgaria might not be included in this weather warning. But that does not mean inhabitants there should reach for their bikinis. All of Bulgaria will be affected by snowfall, according to forecasters.

Also, temperatures will decrease, not for the first time this winter. Starting tomorrow, morning temperatures can reach -13 degrees in central Bulgaria, around -5 degrees along the Black Sea coast and -10 degrees in western Bulgaria, including Sofia.

During daytime on Friday, Plovdiv will actually be the warmest place in Bulgaria, with approximately 0 degrees Centigrade.

These are some ways of dealing with the cold:

Cuddling with a loved one, under a really thick blanket (price tag: 0 Leva)

Having a hot chocolate and American hotcakes in a hot atmosphere (price tag: 10 Leva)

Purchasing a flight ticket to Key West (price tag: 2,000 Leva)
