This is how Frank Sinatra put it:
It’s very nice to go trav’ling
To Paris, London and Rome
It’s oh so nice to go trav’ling
But it’s so much nicer, yes it’s so much nicer, to come home
He was right. And all of the destinations he mentioned are reachable, using cheap airlines from Sofia. That’s the good news.
The bad news is that nobody really knows all destinations from Bulgarian airports.
So, where does Wizz Air fly? And what about Ryan Air and Easyjet? Well, into the clouds. That’s the simple answer.
There are several budget airlines “doing” Bulgaria these days, and it is hard to keep track. Let’s look at their destinations.
Wizz Air actually flies to quite a few of them, from Bulgarian airports. Thirty-eight, to be exact. Of course, there might be additions at any moment. Or routes might be cancelled. But this is what it looks like right now, on November 6th, 2016. (Check the other cheap airlines, further down).

The third big budget airline, Easyjet, is not that strong in Bulgaria, at this stage. They have three destinations from Sofia Airport and will be adding two more from Varna:
