Written by on August 10, 2016 in Bulgaria, Business, Economy - 2 Comments

In the second quarter of 2016, the average salary in Bulgaria has increased by 7.6%, compared to the second quarter of 2015, to the equivalent of 484 Euro. According to the National Institute of Statistics in Sofia, the employment rate increased as well. But the latter aspect has to do with seasonal jobs in tourism and the agricultural sector.

In those two sectors, the average monthly salary is only 304 Euro, while in the IT sector, it would be 1,103 Euro.

Bulgaria is the poorest country in the European Union. Pensioners, but also nurses and several profession groups barely make enough to survive.

Thank you, Alex. We live down here too. Please just multiply the Euro amount by 1.95. That way, you get to Leva.
