Joss Stone, from Dover in the UK, has been obsessed with soul music since she was a little girl.
Even at an early age, she never tried to conceal her unique soul voice. Very early on, when she was 15, she signed her first record deal, which lead to a stunning career. By today, she has a huge fan base all over the planet. After recording seven albums and touring the world extensively, she will finally show up in Bulgaria, to headline the 2016 Bansko Jazz Fest this month. She is due to hit the stage on August 13.
The Bansko Jazz Fest will present many more great acts, which will be delivering a wide range of jazz and jazz-related genres, from Ragtime and Dixieland to British Jazz-Funk. The latter will be performed by the legendary band Shakatak on August 11.
Axel Zwingenberger, a Boogie Woogie hero from Hamburg will also be in Bansko. So will the Israeli Tal Gamlieli Trio and Italy’s singer Alfina Scorza.
Bulgarian artists on stage will include vocalists Vassil Petrov, Magi Alexieva as well as the Fusion group 3-oto. The latter includes guitarist Yasen Vasilev and one of the most versatile drummers in this country, Venko Poromanski.
