Pokémon Event at NDK: A Disappointment to Many

Written by on July 30, 2016 in Bulgaria, Sofia - No comments

Hundreds of “Pokémon Go” enthusiasts stormed the National Palace of Culture (NDK) today. Many participants had shown up with high hopes, for certain virtual figures they wanted to find. Outside the main entrance, while waiting for the doors to open, teenagers were fueling each other’s expectations, by imagining what kind of Pokémon items they might encounter.

Once the doors finally opened, the enthusiasm mutated towards disappointment quite fast, since there were zero Pokémon items. The organizers had hidden little prizes, such as a bottle of Sidre for children, worth about 5 Leva. It was picked up by a boy, aged 12. Supposedly, some Pokémon t-shirts were found as well.

All of this happened during the first hour of the event. It was unclear whether virtual figures were added later.

More Pokémon disappointments are scheduled tomorrow, at the NDK, starting at 4 p.m., and at Sofia Ring Mall, next weekend.

Yawn.
