Michael Doyle, a British tourist at Bulgaria’s Black Sea cost, suddenly fell ill during his vacation. The diagnose: Septicaemia. Michael has been in surgery six times, since he went to a doctor, with severe stomach pains. He is still in intensive care, at a Bulgarian hospital.
He does have a health insurance card. The issue is that doctors insist, he would need to be flown out on a medical flight, due to his condition. The insurance does not cover the expected costs of up to £40,000.
In Michael’s home town, Gorse Hill, Michael’s mother Mandy Doyle started collecting from inhabitants at first, until friends launched the crowdfunding efforts, which are under way right now.
