Polish president Bronislaw Komorowski designated Sejm lower house speaker Ewa Kopacz as Poland’s prime minister to succeed Donald Tusk, and tasked her with presenting the line-up of the new government and putting it to a vote in parliament.

The new cabinet should be known this week and sworn in by Komorowski on September 22. The new PM’s inaugural policy speech and the vote of confidence will likely be held on September 27, governmental spokesperson Malgorzata Kidawa-Blonska told reporters on September 15.
