Contemporary European jazz trio Solea are appearing as an opener for Sofia Jazz Peak at Sofia Live Club on June 13 at 8pm.

The German trio is made up of Markus Horn on the piano, Lars Hansen, bass and Heinz Lichius, drums.

“Communication and vitality on the one hand, musical profundity and intensity on the other distinguish this virtuoso trio’s sound, being rooted in contemporary European jazz. Their music impressively proves that there is no need for division lines between jazz, pop, chamber music, or avantgarde,” the organisers say.

“In their exquisite original compositions Markus Horn, Lars Hansen and Heinz Lichius effortlessly unite clear, catchy melodies with harmonic and rhythmic complexity. In this manner, they have given Solea its own distinctive sound within the international landscape of jazz trios.”

Tickets are available from the Cantus Firmus box office in Bulgaria Hall or online at ticketsbg.com. Ahead of the event, tickets cost 15 leva and from one hour before the start, 20 leva.
