Bulgaria celebrates the Day of the Child on June 1, and among planned events is a childrens’ festival on June 1 and 2 from 10am each day in Sofia’s South Park.

The festival, entitled “I believe in you!” will be a stage for musicians, artists, actors, animators, athletes, parents, representatives of various institutes and ambassadors of other European Union member states, while the participants, writers and directors are children, organisers say.

The focus of the festival is “put yourself in my place,” because the event has a higher purpose. All children will be encouraged to play with children with disabilities, the ultimate aim being to change public attitudes towards the household needs and opportunities for communication and inclusion of children with disabilities.

The event, which has several partners, is organised by the Azbukari Assocation, a non-profit organisation which involves people with a humanitarian background, media specialists, lawyers and other professionals.
