Police in the Bulgarian Black Sea city of Bourgas have arrested a suspect in the murder of a 48-year-old German citizen.

The man in custody, who has been charged with murder, is a fellow German, aged 34, according to an Interior Ministry statement.

The ministry said that the killing was motivated by jealousy involving a 45-year-old German woman, and had followed an evening of drinking at restaurants and bars in the seaside city.

The alleged killer allegedly also stole money using the dead man’s credit card, according to the Interior Ministry.
