Weekend weather forecast: more heat and thunderstorms

Weather in Bulgaria will remain mostly hot and sunny at the weekend, but short-lived thunderstorms should be expected on Sunday, June 24, the meteorology institute of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences forecast.

On June 22, the weather will remain sunny and hot, with temperature highs ranging between 33C and 38C. At Bulgaria’s Black Sea coast, the daily highs are expected to range from 29C to 31C, with water temperatures in the 25C-27C range.

Similar weather has been forecast for June 23, when daily highs will be between 32C and 37C. Late in the evening, thunderstorms have been forecast for western Bulgaria, spreading to the rest of the country on June 24, save in southeastern Bulgaria, where the weather will remain sunny.

The start of next week will see more cloud cover and thunderstorms throughout the country, but temperatures will remain fairly high, ranging between 27C and 32C.
